Chores

Apparently my 14mo old wants to do chores!!!! Now if I could get the 4 and 3yr old to comply I wouldn't have much to do much right?? Isaac loves to help me take out dirty dishes from the dishwasher and then when I have unloaded it he likes to close it.
His latest chore endeavor is the swiffer. He randomly picks it up and starts dusting. Obviously the fridge needed dusting.

Learning new things

Okay before I go any further I really do put clothes on my children(notice Taylor in the background again with no clothes on) whether they undress themselves is entirely up to them at least I am saving on washing clothes. On to Isaac I was coming in the kitchen for something and I turned to look and he was sitting on the floor trying to figure out how to get the shapes into the cookie jar. Here is is a little more intently trying to figure it out. I know this is my third child but it never grows old watching them learn new things and explore the world around them. This little guy brings so much joy into our lives and he makes me smile.

Wii Fit

I have been a little busy lately as you can see why LOL!!! We broke down and bought the Wii Fit and we are having tons of fun with it. For those unfamiliar with the Wii it is the coolest thing ever invented and especially the Wii Fit. You get to create a character they call a Mii and then you get to weigh yourself, get your BMI and then it tells you if you are Obese, Overweight and Normal. There are also games to play as well. The kids were really excited to try it out. They had seen Jon and I doing Hula Hoop and it was "I want a turn". Here is Jared trying to Hula while Taylor is intently watching waiting for her turnand still waiting for her turn.

Here is Taylor looking puzzled "What do I do"?
She finally got the hang of it and only was able to do 4 spins. She pointed at the Tv because at one point it throws more Hula Hoops for you to catch and she couldn't figure it out. Oh well better luck next time.

ER visit - After 4 Years and 3 kids it finally happened

Jared woke up Sunday morning yelling at us from our room saying his leg hurt and that he couldn't walk. I thought to myself hallelujah, maybe he will sit still at church. It was quite a scene to see Jared sitting and not running around all over the place. We asked him what happened and he said he fell off his scooter and hurt is leg Superbad. The funny thing was Jared didn't ride his scooter on Saturday, nor did he say his leg hurt the night before. Trust me as bad as he was favoring his left hip, I am sure we would have heard about it. Since he always likes to tell us... "Ow, I hurt myself".
We really didn't think much about it until Heather went to choir practice and talked to Valerie Wells and said that if his hip is hurting that bad, I would call the doctor. So that is exactly what we did. The Dr. said that if he doesn't have a fever or if it doesn't get better we should take him to the ER. So we gave him Ibuprofen and waited. After about 45 minutes, Heather and I decided to take him to the ER just to make sure everything is alright. My dad came over to go with me and Jared and Susan my step-mom went with Heather to church to help out in nursery. So we get to the hospital and wait and wait and wait some more.
Finally we get into see the RN & ER Registrar. She asked for insurance card and Jared was so excited to hand her his own personal card. She said thank you and Jared replied "your welcome". The lady about fell over in shock. She said she couldn't remember the last time someone said your welcome. So that made Heather and I proud. Now the only worry we have left besides his hip was whether or not he had clean underwear.
Finally he was put into a 3 person room. Luckily he was on the far side so we had some privacy, not that you really have any at a hospital anyway. Jared received his first taste of what it is like to wear the lovely hospital clothes. Then he was told to lay on a bed with no blankets. Maybe the economy has hit hospitals too. I wonder if my insurance covers blankets.... Anyway they finally gave him the nice warm blankets out of the warmer and he was so excited he asked for more a little later.
Here is Jared in hospital garb with his scooby sticker

Another shot of Jared pre-blankets

Finally a picture of Jared enjoying the good life of not very soft, but warm hospital blankets.

Soon the Dr showed up and said that Jared needed an x-ray to confirm he didn't have a fracture and to rule out arthritis or whatever else could be going on. The Dr then said something about a Popsicle and ohh man did that get Jared excited. Too bad they wouldn't let him have one until they knew he would require surgery. So the whole time he kept asking for Spiderman Popsicles and each time the nurses had to keep telling him no. Poor kid. At least we ended up better than the boy in the trauma room. He had a skateboarding accident and broke his arm. Yeah I have been there too, but usually it didn't involve a skateboard, but my own stupidity and clumsiness.

Lucky for us, the x-rays were negative and there were no signs of a bacterial infection. So the Jared finally got his Popsicle, even though it wasn't a Spiderman one. The other thing that he could not wait for was to get the stupid hospital bracelet off his ankle. In fact, he wouldn't even let me get him dressed until they cut it off, lucky for me I was able to sidetrack him and he let me get him dressed and then the nurse finally cut it off.

Then it was off to home.

The next day, Jared woke up early as usual and told us leg didn't hurt and he could move and run. It didn't take long for him to be back to normal picking on his sister and everything. Later while we were eating dinner, Jared said his leg hurt again. When Heather & I turned to look he was jumping on the couch. Must not have hurt too bad.

It was nice to have him slowed down for a little bit, but I think I like the normal Jared better. He sure keeps us on our toes.

Valentine's Cookie Bakers

Anyone who knows me knows that I love to bake and decorate sugar cookies for all occasions and since it is my Nannys recipe they are the best and taste so good. So for Valentines the kids and I baked cookies and even Isaac wanted in on the action. (notice the flour on his shirt)
After I was done rolling out my cookies I gave Jared and Taylor there own dough to roll out and let's just say they used ALOT of flour to roll there cookies out and then I look at them and they are eating the flour yucky!!!
The finished baked product.
A close up of Isaac with Flour on his head as well as the shirt. He wanted in on the action as well.
And Jared trying to tell me something about his cookies and Taylor shoveling raw cookie dough into her mouth. Jon and I taught the kids well.

Chocolate Boy

It seems every time Jon or I open the fridge Isaac is always there looking for a hand out. He usually grabs for the items on the doors. He likes to grab the package of yeast and the chocolate sauce. Jon was like, "Let's give him some"!! As soon as Jon opened the bottle he was there with his mouth open like a lttle bird waiting to be fed from his mommy.
The final result chocolate mouth and he kept coming back for more it was so cute!!

PlayGroup at my House

We had Playgroup at my house today. It was two of the boys Birthdays. One was on Monday the other will be this Friday. So Valerie Ben's Mom brought cake baked in an Ice Cream cone and yummy things to decorate them with. Taylor and Jared of course eating the gummies off of there cones. I counted and I think there were all together 12 boys and 3 girls plus all the mommies it was a blast.( as long as Jared decided to share toys but that is a whole other post)And yes Mister Isaac has not met a piece of food that he hasn't wanted to devour. Most of the time if there is food near by and he sees it he squeals like one of those flying winged dinosaurs so needless to say he was happy.

Jared and Taylor decorating there cupcake cones.

Family Home Evening again

The prophets are really smart about telling us to hold family home evenings. Now I am not saying they are perfect with 3 kids but we are trying. Jared has the neatest teachers in Ctr 5 class and she gave them a lesson last week on the restoration of the gospel and how the church came together and how it ultimately fell apart. She gave a set to each child in the class so we decided to use them for Family Home Evening. Each block had a different picture and a name associated with it. Jared and Taylor had fun. It is really neat to watch your children grow up and to be learning the things of the gospel. When we were done with the lesson we had treats oh boy.
Isaac eating his first ice cream bar. At first he wasn't quite sure but quickly dove in.

My Boy's showing there smiles.
Isaac painting Ice Cream on the table
and Taylor eating hers as well. I had to get a close up because she likes to run around in her skibbies, apparently clothes are optional for her.

Miss Independent

I love when children assert there independence and oh boy did she ever. I actually let her go out in public yesterday looking like this.Wearing Jared's red Spiderman shirt, pink flower Capri's and to top it off blue and brown socks with bears on them. It could have been worse and I tried to get her to change but she was so proud of herself.

Climber McGee

My youngest has decided that he likes to climb on or in anything. His latest accomplishment climbing into the mega blocks container sitting fro a little whilethen climbing out
and climbing back in.
The next trick is climbing onto and off the dishwasher and then standing!!
What a poser for the camera knowing he isn't supposed to be on there.
His next trick I don't have a picture because if I ran to get the camera he probably would have hurt himself. I was folding laundry on Wednesday evening and I come into Jared's room to put some clothes away and I find him standing on the Little Tikes Adjust 'n Draw Table, YIKES!!!! I can't keep my eyes off of him for a second.

Jared's first day of PreSchool

A couple of weeks ago a friend from church said she was going to start a preschool and she would take Jared and Taylor. But Jon and I decided that it was more beneficial for him since he will start school in 2010. His birthday is only a few days past the cut off date so no Kindergarten this school year. So I have been talking to him about going to preschool and he kept telling me," I don't want to go!" Well this morning he had his first day and on the way there he kept telling me to turn the car around because he might have to go home to get his guns if there are creatures at preschool. This child's imagination is wild. Let's just say he blurs the lines of reality with make believe. He was apprehensive at first but was then excited to stay. And I forgot the camera so the cell phone had to suffice except that he kept moving around again

and again. I love this little boy so much and I truly am grateful that Heavenly Father sent him to our family. I just can't believe that he is 4 years old. What happened to my little baby I brought home from the hospital? Sometimes I wish we could keep them little forever.
