Festivities of the Halloween sort

The weekend before Halloween my husbands parents had there annual Trunk-or-Treat so we took the children. Taylor was the "New" Tinkerbell and the Lost forest, Isaac was a pirate Rrrrrr matey!! and Jared decided once again to be Buzz Lightyear even though he was Buzz Lightyear in

2006. The costume that keeps on giving. He actually picked out an Optimus Prime Transformers costume at Costco but decided that Buzz was better. Jon took it back and Jared freaked out so he had to bribe him with a bag of pita chips.

We never actually made it to a pumpkin patch this year so we decided to take them to our local produce market by our house and let them each pick one out. They also helped me decorate the front porch for Halloween. October 1st is when the decorations go up. I don't know who gets more excited me or the kids.

Another shot of the porch and Isaac looking down to make sure he sat on his pumpkin.

Halloween landed on a Saturday this year which is always cool and our ward party and Trunk-or-Treat. Isaac was getting in on all the action doing the bean bag toss.

Jared following after.

Jared and Isaac doing the cake walk.

Taylor eyeing the goodies on the table

and then enjoying her prize for landing on the winning number.

All night we kept looking for Jared and he was at the fishing station. I think he stayed there most of the night

and Isaac showing me what he received from fishing.

The Halloween picture I get every year of them.

After our ward party was over we went Trick-or-Treating in our friend Scott and Ashley's neighborhood with them and the kids were having a blast.

My Mom came out and brought my nephew Kai who was Harry Potter. Jared was so excited to see his cousin. The night went pretty well considering that my friends daughter we lost her for a little bit but found her back at her home because she was cold and wanted to go in. It was a cold night and the kids came away with lots and lots of candy. Now if Mommy and Daddy can stay away from it.

Eagle Run

When I was in high school, I was much bigger than I am now. Since I was big, football was supposed to be a natural thing for me. So I decided to play. The best part was the coaches expected you to come to the first practice in shape (not that big of an expectation looking back). But yeah, that never happened with me.

So the first day of two-a-days, we had to run the Eagle Run (Federal Way's mascot was the Eagles). It is a 1.5 mile (6 laps around the track) run that must be completed in 12 minutes or less. In other words, you needed to average at least an 8 minute mile to finish. If you did it, then you never had to run it again. If you didn't, then you had to run it over and over at future practices until you did do it.

My first attempt as a junior I ran it in over 23 minutes. (Really I know most of you could walk that, but that also included the 5 minute break I took to puke.) I didn't give up though and finished it. Needless to say, I never did make that year. My senior year, I ran the whole way only to run it in 18 minutes.

Since I have been running a lot lately, I thought that I would like to do something I was never able to do 14 years ago. So the fam headed over to the local track. I had my I-pod setup with exactly 12 minutes of music. So when the music stopped, I would need to be at the finish line in order to have done it. Heather decided to run with me too.

So I began running and after the first mile I was at exactly 8 minutes. So I was on pace as long as I could keep it up and not slow down. Then my last song began to play which is about a minute long. I knew where I had to be when that song started playing. Was I there, nope. I was about 75 meters behind that mark. So when I was coming around the last corner the music ended. Another defeat. I was so upset, I just stopped running. Had I continued to finish the last lap, I would have finished it in about 12.5 minutes. I know this is a far improvement to the 18 and 23 minutes before, but I thought for sure I could have done it. I am not about to let this be my final defeat though. I will beat that 12 minute mark.

To Be Continued...

Chores

Every time I go to unload the dishwasher I have a helper in tow yelling, "I wannta do it!" So why not. The silverware may not get put in the right spot in the tray but who cares because I have the cutest helper ever.

In deep thought as to where they belong. For the most part he gets them in the right place. I think I will have to give my 1yr old his 5yr olds allowance seeing as Isaac is the only one who likes to help me.

Boredom

When it is raining in Washington and you have 3 VERY bored children you have to get creative. So mommy pulled out the two indoor tents with the tunnel and thus they were not bored any longer.
Isaac and Taylor chasing each other threw the tunnel.

Looking threw one end to the other

Now that fall has sprung I guess I have to get a little more creative to keep my kids occupied, but only two kids in the afternoon as Jared will be starting preschool soon, YEAH!!!!!!

Thoughts and Random Ramblings of a Mad Women

Where do I even begin. I have slacked lately on blogging. I feel like Alice in Wonderland chasing after the white rabbit down the hole and never getting anywhere. I have lost 71lbs and it is hard to maintain and my food choices as of lately have been oh let's say WAY out of control. My children are driving me nuts more like everything is driving me nuts. I can never seem to finish a project and I am surprised that I even get my housework/laundry/vacuuming/everything else that comes with a house done. When I set my mind to do things I can accomplish them. I watch and DVR way to many reality television shows. I have a shoe fetish and can't seem to have enough(the only colors I don't have are white and gray). I was able to get Jared into preschool through Childfind with the school district now I am just waiting and waiting and waiting did I mention I was waiting for the teacher to get a hold of me(he qualified on October 2,2009). I never right in my journal anymore I can't tell you the last time I actually picked up my scriptures to read them. It feels like I have had my calling at church FOREVER.There are days I go to church and just want to turn around and walk out and never go back/ but then there are people who send you a nice email to let you know what a good job you are doing with your calling, Thank you so much for that I needed it :). I am frustrated that I still have to work I would like to quit. I have never been diagnosed but I am pretty sure I have ADD. I really wonder some days how I am able to have and keep friends because I am not a nice person. My husband says I am vain but I just tell him I like to look nice and I love keeping up with in style fashions. I have a crazy jacked up family. I feel as if I am not good enough for others. I tend to let the littlest things bother me. I think I need ANGER management. I have been really trying to treat my children with more kindness some days are better than others. I wish I wish I wish I had a magic wand to fix everything but I don't. I feel bad inviting people over to my house because it is small. I stick my foot in my mouth regularly and don't care take me or leave me that is who I am. I have never gone to college and am afraid to do so. I am afraid of failing. I am not perfect and feel like I have to have all my ducks in a row at times. I have three kids and the house can get quit messy. I love my husband and am grateful that he puts up with me and all that comes along with me.
