Free day before noon is the greatest sound to my wallet. My hubby took a half day off of work so we could venture to the Puyallup fair for one thing only "The coveted Salsa maker" and of course my scone which my husband and father in law like to call a biscuit, you see they are from Utah so an elephant ear (fried dough) is more like scone to them then a scone is to..... well you get the idea. The kids wanted to go see animals more like the cows. Jared just wanted to look at each one and comment.

And then as I was taking a picture of him I noticed he had on two different socks on, of course I had to get a picture as proof.

Isaac was about to come unglued if he didn't get out to see the cows.
And then yelling at the top of his lungs, "I see the cow Mommy, I see the cowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!
We then went on to purchase an Elephant Ear and did I mention it was HOT and I mean HOT outside I thought I was going to die of heat stroke. Taylor and Isaac enjoying there first bite of yummy fried goodness while watching the BIG scream ride go up and down

and Isaac pointing to it going up and down.
Jon and Jared sharing the fried dough and talking about whatever Jared was commenting about.

Then we come to the FUN part of the story. I have gone to the Puyallup fair for as many years as I can remember and I always have to have a scone. Now mind you this is opening day and it is HOT outside there are TONS of people roaming around and I decide to go stand in a fairly short line so I thought WRONG. Every person in front of me (about only 12) wanted and purchased DOZENS and more DOZENS!!! I only wanted four, yes that's it four. I ended up waiting 45+ minutes while they even had time to have a shift change and then the cashier girl took five more minutes. Goodness gracious!! I should have gone in the kitchen to help because I would have been just as hot standing in line as I would have been in the kitchen and I wouldn't have got sunburned over a piece of food (okay 4 pieces of food). My father in law at one point even tried to bribe me with going out to dinner if I would get out of line. But to no avail I waited and waited and waited.

Finally I got back to the family and gave Jared, Taylor and Isaac there scone and the first words out of Jared's mouth was, "What?? A jelly
sandwich?" Me, "Boy that is a scone you better eat it". Taylor didn't like hers but Isaac sure loved his as you can see by the open mouth insert food picture while Grandpa smiles on while
watching him consume this yummy scone. It was a fun day to
spend time
together as a family and I hope next year we don't go on opening day, too many people and maybe just a few degrees cooler would be nice as well.
